Position Overview:

KGI is seeking a talented SharePoint expert to serve as lead developer on a customized SharePoint solution for our government customer. A successful candidate will have a history of creating scalable SharePoint-driven applications that are clean, easy to navigate, and designed to meet functionality requirements. He/she should have extensive knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office/365, UI design, and front-end programming. Responsibilities will include architecting a scalable web application in SharePoint that meets client specifications, writing and changing underlying code, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior SharePoint developers. He/she will also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with developers as well as less technical team members (e.g., project managers, customers).

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with project manager(s) to review and understand SharePoint application requirements.
  • Track tasks and development progress in project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Communicate with project manager(s) to interpret customer requirements and track development tasks accordingly.
  • Collaborate with project manager(s) and team members to architect SharePoint solutions that exceed customer expectations.
  • Extend SharePoint functionality through use of web parts, forms, etc.
  • Test and debug SharePoint application code
  • Design a user interface that is visually appealing and easy to navigate
  • Conduct code reviews, supplying helpful feedback and guidance to junior developers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Five-seven years of professional hands-on experience as a SharePoint application architect/developer.
  • Strong understanding of all components that comprise a customized SharePoint solution.
  • Development experience using C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Frameworks.
  • Understanding of JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSON, and web services in general.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Microsoft SharePoint, Office, or similar certification(s) strongly preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship necessary - must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology.
  • JIRA/Confluence

Location:

This position will be hybrid, a combination of working remote and working at client sites in the Washington D.C. metro area.
