Position Overview:

The Senior Acquisition Program Manager will work hand in hand with customer senior leadership to steer portfolio strategy and direction and oversee day to day activities. They will be responsible for working with senior Coast Guard Surface Acquisition leadership to develop acquisition documentation, address internal and external leadership questions, and provide executive meeting support.

Responsibilities:

  • Advises and assists functional area experts on contractual matters in the acquisition planning stages.
  • Supports documentation development for acquisition planning and project management from mission analysis and requirements generation through design, development, production, and deployment.
  • Plans, prepares, tracks, and maintains acquisition lifecycle documentation. Supports development of acquisition milestone documentation.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience managing large delivery teams and growing strategic client relationships.
  • Must have excellent written/oral communication skills (English).
  • Working knowledge of DHS Acquisition Instructions/Guidebook (102-01), U.S. Coast Guard Major Systems Acquisition Manual (MSAM) or DOD 5000 compliant ACATI or II program.
  • Experience in establishing and measuring against cost, schedule, performance metrics.
  • Experience in creating project plans, cost estimating, risk management, and configuration management.
  • Ten years of experience with acquisitions.
  • Coast Guard acquisition experience.
  • Five-plus years of experience supporting management level individuals.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, organized and a good problem solver.
  • BA/BS requires MBA/MA/MS preferred
  • U.S. citizenship required - must be able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
